The ''Simple'' Past simple

The past simple is the easiest tense in English.
Because you don't have to add something to the verb. And all the pronouns have the same effect on the verb.

You only need to know if the verb is regular or irregular.
What is a regular verb?

It is any verb that forms its past by adding an -ed
or -d.
to love    = loved.
to like    = liked.
to talk   = talked
etc.
Hint 1:
Most verbs with more than 5 letters are regular.
to compensate = compensated.
to influence = influenced.
# Sometimes, there are exceptions:
-to understand  = understood.
-to foretell = foretold.
Hint 2:
Regular also means 'normal'.
So, are normal things more common or abnormal things?
That's why regular verbs are more common than irregular verbs. ( Good news, right? :) )

# The helping verb in the past simple is 'did'.
# The helping verb appears in the negative & questions:
- He told us a story => He did not tell us a story.
=> Did he tell us a story? => Didn't he tell us a story?
